An introduction to one of the oldest, most fascinating and most misunderstood wine regions in the world, this class will go way beyond Riesling. You will learn how to read and understand German wine labels and we will crush any preconceptions you may have about German and Austrian wines. Three whites and three reds. 'The Germans make red wine??!' Instructor: This event is led by Brett Costello, the newest member of our instructional staff. Brett has been a student and Cru Club member of the Wine School of Philadelphia for many years. He has passed all the requisites for his Diploma Oenotropae from the school and is waiting for graduation. His passion spans the spectrum of the wine world but has found a niche in German, Austrian and French wines. Always with a self-deprecating sense of humor, he dismisses the phrase 'wine connoisseur' when trying to describe him ... he thinks 'wine geek' would be more accurate.
