The best way to learn about wine is to drink wine! Lots of it! Seriously though, learning the methods of wine evaluation helps you find what style you like the most. Comparing different styles in a guided tasting will teach you what you like and why.
In this class, we will explore Old World and New World wines; compare and contrast light body to full body, and the influence of oak, tannins & acids on the taste of wine. We'll be tasting three wines from Pinot Boutique's local collection. We will also discuss proper handling, serving and storage of wine. After this class, you'll know all sorts of interesting wine terms to show off your heightened wine IQ to all your friends.
Instructor: Jeff Carroll is a Certified Specialist of Wine and has earned the Intermediate and Advanced Certificates from the internationally recognized Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Formerly a manager of a specialty wine store, Jeff is now a wine sales associate for a New Jersey wine store. Jeff is currently writing a guide to the local wineries of the Philadelphia region. He loves Burgundies and exploring unusual varieties.
*This class is a great follow up to Develop Your Wine IQ: Version A, however it is not required.
