Together Again: Michael & Janet Jackson Workshop

King of Pop Hip-Hop is Back! Pay tribute to the legendary Michael Jackson and his talented sister at our June cardio dance workshop. Seriously, we challenge you to come up with another pair of musical siblings who have more hit songs between them than these two.

We never get tired of dancing to MJ’s greatest hits, but we also like to mix it up to keep things fresh. So this year, we’ll be including a combination of MJ, Janet, some Jackson 5 disco throwbacks and even a couple of newer remixes.

With so many classic MJ songs and 10 albums to Janet’s name, our biggest challenge will be picking out the best hits to feature in this Jackson mash-up. But you can bet that “Rhythm Nation” and the inspiration for this workshop title will both be among our 90-minute line-up. Oh, and can’t forget about “If,” and “Miss U Much.” And “Scream,” featuring both brother and sister.

And of course, expect favorites from past King of Pop Hip-Hop workshops, from “ABC,” to “Smooth Criminal” to “Beat It,” as well as routines to “newer” songs like “Love Never Felt So Good.”

As in past years, the workshop will include a mix of follow-the-leader moves plus passes across the floor and breakdowns of more complicated combinations. Instructors Brooke Blair Pias and Deborah Hirsch will even break out small segments of original choreography performed by the King himself.

The footwork and pace of the instruction will be geared toward a teen and adult audience, however, younger dancers are welcome if accompanied by an adult. No dance experience necessary. Hats and white gloves encouraged.

Space is limited, so reserve your spot — and save a few bucks — by purchasing tickets in advance! Early bird tickets are available for 20 percent off through June 16!
