Turn off that red light, hang up your dress, come off the street and out of the cold to hear the secrets inside the little black book of prostitution. Dr. Nicholas Rauh, Professor of Classics at Purdue University and author of 'The Sacred Bonds of Commerce: Religion, Trade, and Society at Hellenistic-Roman Delos,' and 'Merchants, Sailors, and Pirates in the Roman World,' will discuss the available archaeological evidence for prostitution in ancient trading ports and the limitations of modern scholarship when confronting issues such as venues of prostitution in the ancient world. Dr. Rauh's personal experiences and observations from Turkish police stations and tourist hotels in southern Turkey bring the discussion from ancient brothels to the modern streets of Antalya. Join the Young Friends of the Penn Museum for cocktails and mingling after the program. Cash Bar. TICKETS: $10 General Admission $5 Museum Members $5 Penn Students with ID
