Cerveza: Celebrating the South American Tradition Thursday, May 8 at 6:30 pm The Young Friends of the Penn Museum invite you to celebrate cerveza! Dr. Clark Erickson, Curator-in-Charge, Penn Museum American Section, discusses the history and makings of traditional Andean beer using objects in the Museum's permanent collection and his research, as well as his work with Dogfish Head Brewery to create a traditional chicha beer, as chronicled in The New York Times.
Then, enjoy a reception with a complimentary beer tasting from the region, South American-themed appetizers, and a full cash bar. Beers included in the tasting are:
Xzingu (Brazil)
Bohemia (Brazil)
Cusquena (Peru)
Cristal (Peru)
Southern Tier Choklat Stout (NY Brewery with Maya-inspired beer)
$25 Museum members; $30 general public
