EveryoneOn Launches in Philadelphia To Bridge the Digital Divide

To kick-off Philly Tech Week, a national initiative to bridge the digital divide will officially launch in Philadelphia on Monday, April 22, 2013. The initiative called EveryoneOn is working to get Americans connected to the technology and skills they need to participate in the digital economy and compete in the 21st Century workforce. Locally, our goal is to reach families, students, and others throughout the Philadelphia area and provide free digital literacy training, discounted high-speed internet packages and low-cost computers. EveryoneOn is powered by Connect2Compete and made possible by the support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Join us on Monday at 3pm at the Parkway Central Library of the Free Library of Philadelphia to learn more about how you can access these resources. Attendees will hear from:
  • Desiree Peterkin Bell. City Representative, City of Philadelphia
  • Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, Federal Communications Commission
  • Siobhan Reardon, President and Director, Free Library of Philadelphia
  • Zach Leverenz, Chief Executive Officer, EveryoneOn
  • Donna Frisby-Greenwood, Program Director, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation
  • Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, FCC
  • Sharmain Matlock-Turner, President and CEO, Urban Affairs Coalition
  • Sheila Anthony, Philadelphia resident

More information, including Job Resources are available at EveryoneOn.org, along with a Locator Tool with information on where to find free digital literacy training programs in your neighborhood.
