On Sunday, May 15, 2011, the Philadelphia region will have a unique opportunity to meet Luis Carlos Montalv, author of Until Tuesday, an inspiring story about a wounded Iraqi war veteran and the dog that saved him! Luis is a 17-year veteran and former Captain in the U.S. Army, where he earned the Combat Action Badge, two Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart. Luis' writing has been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The International Herald Tribune (among others), and NPR, CBS, CNN, BBC, C-SPAN, National Geographic, and Democracy Now! have all featured his amazing personal tale. Luis and Tuesday will be joined by: Summit Search and Rescue, and Appalachian Air Canines. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. that day, each of these two groups will be holding demonstrations. Frozen Woofys and Wegmans are pleased to host this event. Our goal is to make everyone aware of the vital role dogs play in our lives from having fun and getting some great exercise for kids, to life-saving skills.
