Roz Holberg, President of Hadassah of Greater Philadelphia, announces plans for their spring gala and fundraiser, to be held Sunday, April 29, 10:30 a.m. at the Marriott Center City at 12th and Market Streets. The event is part of a national celebration of the organization's hundredth anniversary. Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, has launched a year of centennial anniversary celebrations scheduled through 2012 including what will be a grand four-day milestone celebration in Jerusalem in October.
Event tickets are $65 (with a minimum pledge of $136). Lynne Savran and Bonnie Benson are the event co-chairs. The event features raffles, a silent auction and a special performance by The Israeli Scouts (a Glee-like troop of teenagers from Israel). The event will bring four generations of Philadelphia women together to celebrate the group's efforts on behalf of Israel. At the event, 23 women from all over the region will receive Hadassah's prestigious Myrtle Wreath Award. The award is given to members chosen by their group who exemplify the Hadassah ideals of commitment, leadership and philanthropy.
