Unlock animated and interactive versions of photography using a smartphone.
This exhibition reflects Dan Marcolina’s 35-year journey in digital image creation, from commercial and fine art photography to mixed reality images. By blending AI with traditional digital techniques he reimagines photography, resulting in distinctive and thought-provoking visual juxtapositions.
Visitors engage with the images through their phones to unlock additional layers of story, animation, and mystery. Marcolina will also delve into his insights and interactions with AI during an artist talk.
The exhibition will be on display at the Blue Bell Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422 in two campus locations:
Tuesday, Aug. 26 – Saturday, Oct. 4: Montco Cultural Center Fine Arts Center Gallery
Tuesday, Oct. 7 – Saturday, Nov. 8: Montco Cultural Center Theater Gallery in the Science Center
Visitors are welcome to attend an opening reception at the Montco Cultural Center Fine Arts Center Gallery on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 5-7 p.m.
In addition, Marcolina will give a lecture, “Guiding Generative Media with Artistic Instinct & Intent” in the Montco Cultural Center Theater in the Science Center Thursday, Oct. 9, from 7-8 p.m.
Each event is free and open to all, but tickets are required for the lecture.
