Summertime is here! There’s still time to enroll at Montgomery County Community College for the fall semester, so beat the heat and learn more about all of the bright opportunities available.

To address the demand for health care workers, teachers and first-responders, MCCC will host a series of open house events on Aug. 2, 9 and 10 at its Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses for students interested in these careers to learn more about programs at the College.

Since the pandemic, the nation has been facing a shortage of nurses, teachers and police officers, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has acknowledged the impact of this shortage in Pennsylvania and the importance of filling the vacancies for these vital occupations. For more than 50 years, Montco has been educating students in these and related occupations, providing them with the skills and knowledge to excel in their fields.

At MCCC, students in these fields are leading the way. In the Nursing field, 94.12 percent of MCCC students passed the National Council Licensing Examination-Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). In comparison, the state average pass rate is 88.21 percent; and the national average is 80.63 percent. The Municipal Police Academy celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and has successfully graduated 4,100 new police officers in that time. MCCC offers Education in the Early Years (birth through fourth grade), Education in the Middle Years (fourth through eighth grades) and Secondary Education associate degree programs.
