Join Merge Dance Studio in Manayunk for a SHIFT Strength and Conditioning workshop with guest teacher Diana Jewell on Sat., Feb. 11th from 3:30-5:00pm! SHIFT Strength and Conditioning works to improve dancers’ base fitness levels in order to increase their potential for stronger, more consistent, beautiful movement. This program targets the specific elements of fitness that are missing from traditional dance classes, creating well rounded dancers who are less prone to injury and better equipped to perform both in class and on stage. This workshop will show each dancer how to improve their base level of fitness, as well as to develop the strength and conditioning necessary to perform with confidence both in the studio and on stage, to reduce the occurrence of injury, to extend their career, and to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. By shifting the way that dancers train, we can begin to shift perceptions of how a dancer’s body can look and what a dancer’s body is truly capable of. This workshop is open to teens and adults (all levels) and is $20.00 to attend. Advance registration is required to attend this workshop.
