Caveat Emptor - Fakes, Forgeries and Reproductions

A Seminar to Benefit The Center for Art in Wood This mini-course, presented by Charles F. Hummel, Curator Emeritus and Adjunct Professor, Winterthur Museum and Garden, includes two illustrated lectures on the subject of fakes, forgeries, and reproductions of decorative arts made or used in America. The morning lecture provides an overview of the subject by examining examples of ceramics, ironware, pewter, prints, and silver. The afternoon lecture features an in-depth study of furniture.

The day begins at 9:30 AM at Freeman's with coffee and check-in, includes a one hour lunch break, and concludes at 3:00 PM. Participants can pre-order box lunches with their early registration or request a listing of local restaurants that can accommodate our schedule.
