For the 2014 holiday season, the Franklin Square Holiday Festival is bigger, brighter, and sparklier with new attractions, a new winter beer garden and expanded food options, a holiday shopping market with a select group of local artisans, and much more! This season, experience the magic of the holiday and celebrate traditions new and old at the Franklin Square Holiday Festival. From November 13 – December 31, dazzle in the lights of the Electrical Spectacle: A Holiday Light Show, shop for handmade, artisanal gifts at the Holiday Market, and warm up with comfort food, local beers, and hot beverages in Ben's Bites & Brews. The Square is transformed into a magical place with carols, dancing snowflakes, holiday music playing on the Parx Liberty Carousel, warming stations in the Philly Mini Golf and a host of new additions for 2014 culminating in the traditional family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration. New and expanded entertainment includes Food Truck Fridays, Santa Saturdays, Seasonal Sounds on Sundays, Kids' Craftivity Hours, Lightning Bolt Holiday Express train rides around the Square, a winter beer garden, all in addition to the spectacular Electrical Spectacle nighttime light show synchronized to music with the new addition of songs from The Nutcracker this year. Electrical Spectacle is a free light show that illuminates the Square nightly with more than 50,000 lights as they shimmer, dance, and illuminate the Square to a soundtrack of holiday classics performed by The Philly POPSTM (including arrangements by Peter Nero, Music Director Emeritus) in two alternating shows every 30 minutes (4:30 to 8 pm).
