Moorestown Theater Company Presents "The Prom" (with our 'Black' Cast) & Deputy Mayor Quinton Law


MOORESTOWN, NJ — The award-winning, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will present the South Jersey Community Theater premiere of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Prom at the First Methodist Church at 446 E. Camden Avenue. The 35-Member Cast, comprised of adults and students in grades eight through twelve, will bring to life the important musical about 'Emma Nolan', a high school lesbian who just wants to bring her girlfriend to their high school's prom. This very funny musical is rated PG-13. The Prom will be performed on these dates and times by the 'cast' listed and with the elected official listed playing a cameo role: Wednesday, November 8 at 7 PM with our 'Black' Cast and Moorestown Deputy Mayor Quinton Law playing the cameo role of reporter 'Oliver Keating' Thursday, November 9 at 7 PM with our 'Gold' Cast and Moorestown School Board President Mark Villanueva playing the cameo role of reporter 'Oliver Keating' Friday, November 10 at 7 PM with our 'Black' Cast and Moorestown Mayor Nicole Gillespie playing the cameo role of reporter 'Olivia Keating' Saturday, November 11 at 1 PM with our 'Black' Cast and MTC Producing Artistic Director Mark Morgan playing the cameo role of reporter 'Oliver Keating' Saturday, November 11 at 3:30 PM: MTC & MooreUnity will co-host a Community Forum regarding LGBTQIA+ issues raised in The Prom Saturday, November 11 at 7 PM with our 'Gold' Cast and Burlington County Commissioner Dan O'Connell playing the cameo role of reporter 'Oliver Keating' Sunday, November 12 at 2 PM with our 'Gold' Cast and Moorestown Councilperson Jake Van Dyken playing the cameo role of reporter 'Oliver Keating' This musical has the following Production Staff: Producer and Director Mark Morgan, Producer and Assistant Vocal Director Carol Ann Murray, Vocal Director Mark Pinzur, Choreographer Renee Chambers-Liciaga, Costume Designer Thom Sirkot, Stage Manager John Wells, and Technical Director Jack Morgan. This is the 12th production, and 10th musical, that MTC is performing in its new theater home at FMC’s Fellowship Hall. All Reserved Seat Tickets are $22 for Adults, and $18 for Seniors / Veterans / Students, and can be purchased at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org or at the door. Come be entertained by MTC, which was named as “The Outstanding Community Theater Of The Year” in September 2022 by the New Jersey Association of Community Theaters (NJACT), and which won the "Innovator Award" from the New Jersey Theatre Alliance Cultural Access Network in June 2023, and which will receive the "Community Impact Award" from the Association of Fundraising Professionals on November 16 (both for it's 'Penguin Project' production for neurodiverse children). MTC will next perform Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer JR. as its next musical starting on December 2nd. MTC has also announced most of the musicals that will be performed in its 2024 Season, including Seussical JR., Newsies, Cinderella, Youth Edition, Godspell, Fiddler On The Roof, Rent, the return of Scenes & Songs and Elf JR.
