Bits & Bites of History: Working Hard for a Living

Friday evening, September 2, 2016, the Elfreths’s Alley Association will offer the second in its Bits and Bites of History Series. From 5:00 to 7:00 pm, in coordination with Old City’s First Friday openings, the EEA will be offering tours of its House Museum No. 124 along with speaker George Boudreau.

Dr. Boudreau is an active public historian, working with museums and historic sites to tell the story of America’s heritage and is the author of Independence: A Guide to Historic Philadelphia.

In honor of Labor Day Dr. Boudreau will be discussing the variety of trades and occupations the residents of the Alley have been engaged in over the course of its history beginning in the early 18th century.

Elfreth’s Alley, British North America’s oldest continuously inhabited street, receives hundreds of thousand visitors from around the globe every year.

This event is free and open to the public. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the House and Alley during evening hours.
