BOGO Daytime Tour Admission for Anyone Who Donates.

Donate a toy or children's book from November 25 through December 21, 2022 in exchange for "Buy One, Get One Free" daytime tour admission to Eastern State Penitentiary.

One in 28 American children has a parent behind bars. In Pennsylvania alone, there are approximately 81,000 children with a parent incarcerated in a Pennsylvania state prison. How can we come together as a community to support families experiencing incarceration during the holidays?

From November 25 through December 21, any Eastern State visitor who donates a new toy or children's book, in its original packaging (but please no gift wrap), will receive a coupon for BOGO Daytime Tour Admission valid through December 31, 2023. BOGO coupons are not valid for private tours or special events like Night Tours or Halloween Nights.

Eastern State Penitentiary will collect the donations and partner with more than a dozen community organizations to distribute them to local children who have been impacted by incarceration.

Donations of toys and books that support children’s imaginations, literacy skills, self-esteem, and creativity at any age are recommended. People may drop off donations during all public tour hours even if they are not planning to take a tour. Items can also be purchased online and shipped directly to the penitentiary:
