Bees Deluxe Swarm the Loft

Bees Deluxe

Catch the British-American acid blues band, Bees Deluxe as they bring their unique blend of blues, funk psychedelia and punk jazz to the Philadelphia City Winery.  Banned in Boston and exiled from Britain, the band delivers blues wrapped in genre-bending arrangements that feature scorching guitar, ethereal keyboard, screaming harmonica, brooding bass and driving drums that have won the band fans from Maine to Miami. With a repertoire that includes arresting originals and innovative takes on less-traveled tunes by artists ranging from Albert King to Joe Zawinul, Bees Deluxe drags the blues tradition of the 1960’s Chicago, the Mississippi Delta and the Blue Note catalog kicking and screaming into the 21st Century.

“Blues Blast Magazine says of Bees Deluxe: “What might happen if Freddie King took a lot of acid then wrote a song with Pat Metheny and asked a strung-out Stevie Ray Vaughan to take a solo”

Bees Deluxe is fronted by British guitar monster Conrad Warre and features Carol Band on keyboards, Paul Giovine on drums and Jim Gildea on bass. The band is a favorite at festivals and has released two recent albums, the all-originals “Voice of Dog” and their post-tour album “Mouthful of Bees” featuring live on-stage onstage favorites including Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland’s “I Wouldn’t Treat a Dog,” the Etta James ballad song “Damn Your Eyes.”
