Take a peek inside the weird and wonderful world of taxidermy with a live screening of our award-winning documentary. The compulsion to keep animals intact after death goes back to ancient Egypt, where animals of all description were mummified. Though the methods and motivations have changed, the desire has remained pretty constant.
Join us for a screening of the short film Death and Taxidermy, directed and produced by Mariel Carr, a member of our Distillations team. Meet Beth Beverly, a young taxidermist turning the craft on its head, and John Whitenight, Philadelphia’s premier Victorian taxidermy collector.
The presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m, and the Museum at CHF will be open for self-guided tours from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
