Orrin Evans: Jazz pianist, composer, and producer - leads his large ensemble, translating postbop fire to the big-band canvas. A two-time Grammy nominee and Pew Fellow, Orrin Evans has been recognized as one of the most distinctive and inventive pianists of his generation. Mr. Evans has earned the titles of pianist, composer, bandleader, teacher, producer and arranger, and The New York Times describes him as '...a poised artist with an impressive template of ideas at his command.� In his 20-year plus career, Evans has been critically acclaimed for his imposing chops, his propulsive take on rhythm and harmony alike.
Mr. Evans will be bringing his 17-piece ensemble to Trenton's stage to thrill our audience with a night of big band JAZZ!
Capital Green is three acres of lush, green open space located downtown at 201 Barrack Street, Trenton, NJ 08608, behind the New Jersey State House at the intersection of West Lafayette Street; next to the Old Barracks Museum.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to the open lawn concert setting. All ages are welcome, and admission is free.
