Join Fiber Artist Kate Eggleston as she guides you through the Japanese art of functional embroidery. $22 per student Date: Thursday, August 15th Time: 11:30am-1:00pm
ages 10+
Instead of throwing away a beloved shirt or a well-worn hand towel, learn how to decoratively fix a hole or a rip by patching it. Boro (translated as “ragged”) is the Japanese tradition of using small stitches (or functional embroidery) to mend clothing and fabric. All levels welcome - previous sewing experience not required. Participants should bring an item of clothing or cloth that has a rip or hole in it that needs repair. All other basic materials are included.
