Avoiding the police after a scuffle with the mob, three friends, circa 1967, leave Hong Kong for Saigon, amidst the Vietnam War. The film was cut up by producers attempting to recreatee the success Woo had with The Killer' so they forced him to add action sequences (such as in the finale) and cut story, removing about an hour of footage. This new version restores the proper onclusion and the most vital of the deleted scenes.
