Philly’s own Swing That Cat is set to electrify the Ardmore Music Hall on Wednesday, September 17th, for an unforgettable vinyl record release show. The evening promises a triple dose of dynamic music as Swing That Cat will co-headline with the captivating Mariposas Galácticas, with special guest Matthew Gordon opening the night.
The highly anticipated event marks the official vinyl release of Swing That Cat’s latest album, “LEAP”, offering fans a unique opportunity to own the new record in a high quality vinyl, produced by Studio 4 Vinyl. Known for their “Sonic Cocktail of Jump, Jive and Wail”, this female-led band, backed by hepcats howling “Yo Philly” with horns, flute, guitar, bass and drums, have earned their stripes building a dedicated following in the vibrant Philadelphia music scene.
Joining them on stage are Mariposas Galácticas, a band lauded for weaving their innovative blend Kumbia, Klezmer, and Punk into a vibrant tapestry of radical joy and resistance. Kicking off the evening will be special guest Matthew Gordon/Ryann Lynch, setting the stage blending Blues-Folk-Dobro-Fiddle groves entwined soul searching lyrics into songs of hard-driving sensibility and universal truths.
