On Thursday, September 20th we have the pleasure of hosting Fair State Brewing Cooperative at American Sardine Bar. Fair State Brewing opened their doors in Minneapolis in 2014 with over 400 member-owners (who vote on the board of directors, help brew beer, etc) and as the third cooperative brewery in the nation.
We'll be pouring 5 different beers from Fair State- 'Feeling Good, Louis!' (a brut IPA with kiwi), Roselle (hibiscus kettle sour), Keller Kazbek (keller pils- excited for this one), Lactobac (mixed culture sour!), and Fully Krausened (a naturally carbonated Lithuanian style lager brewed with wheat malt, in collaboration with Live Oak). All drafts will be tapped at 4pm- available while supplies last.
We're pumped to hang with President/CEO Evan Sallee and pester him with co-op questions- 'Do the members/owners get to name the beers? Can they post on the Fair State Instagram?' But seriously, we're very curious to hear about the day to day challenges and rewards of running a cooperative brewery
Also wondering what the MPLS crew will think of Chef Doreen's take on the Twin Cities' famed 'Juicy Lucy' Burger? (I hear there's a 'melted core' of cheese... find out for yourself) Grab one with a side of tater tots for a snack a Minnesotan would love.
