Adventure Aquarium will host a sensory-inclusive hour aimed at guests with autism and other sensory sensitivities on the third Sunday of every month, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
During the Sensory Sunday hour, the Aquarium will lower the music, soften the lights, and reduce the crowds, all in an effort to create the most enjoyable experience for guests with sensory needs and their families, for whom a typical trip to the Aquarium can be much more challenging.
Adventure Aquarium also offers a limited number of sensory bags to rent for any guests who may begin to feel overwhelmed during their visit. Sensory bags can be signed out at the Aquarium’s Info Desk and are equipped with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, and verbal cue cards.
