Come visit the Ironworks at Pencoyd Landing for a discussion centering on the ongoing transformation of this industrial brownfield site into a trail-connected riverside destination. Framed by the heritage steel and the historic headquarters of the Pencoyd Ironworks, the new public places are at once a refuge from the city, and a neighborhood/urban setting. With a new hotel and two new top-chef restaurants, the Ironworks offers a unique blend of encounter between locals and travelers – from informal, intimate occasions to big events. Realized through a decades-long iterative design process and constructed through a self-performed design-build construction strategy, Penn was able to navigate the pandemic challenges. The Ironworks is still discovering and realizing what it can become.
The panel discussion proceedings will be moderated by RadioKismet host Christopher Plant, and recorded as part of one of his upcoming podcasts.
