The journey2home mural, Home Safe, was created by artists Ernel Martinez and Shira Walinsky, with the help of young people in Philadelphia, to illuminate the challenges of housing insecurity for youth. Across the street from the mural, around a modified shipping container signifying home, guests will have a chance to participate in the project themselves. Help us install paper cranes and signs from previous events into an artwork expressing the financial, emotional, and structural barriers that more than 2,500 young people in Philadelphia face today.
One block away in the journey2home storefront, witness Jon Kaufman's premier documentary about our participants and an intimate story elicitation art project by Nema Etebar and Dr. Carolyn Cannuscio. Featuring artwork and music created by Dr. Carolyn Cannuscio, Nema Etebar, Jon Kaufman, Ernel Martinez, Michael O'Bryan, Shira Walinsky and Jared Wood.
