The Pennsylvania SPCA will celebrate its long history of protecting Pennsylvania’s animals at the organization’s Bark & Whine gala, the nonprofit’s signature fundraising event. Founded in 1867, the PSPCA has been protecting animals, preventing cruelty and improving the health and quality of life for animals in Pennsylvania and the region for a century and a half.
The event will move to a new location in 2019, 2300 Arena, and will feature an open bar, dinner and dancing all while celebrating fellow animal advocates. Adoptable dogs and cats will also join in the fun, meeting and greeting attendees throughout the event.
This year, the PSPCA will step away from honoring one individual, and instead honor the collective work of staff, volunteers and dedicated animal advocates who commit their time and dollars to making life better for animals of all kinds throughout the Commonwealth.
In year’s past the organization has honored Pam Berkman, Governor Ed Rendell, Phillies legend Larry Bowa and his wife Patty, the late George Bengal, Marsha Perelman, Lindy Snider, Jennifer Utley, Larry & Mickey Magid, Gerry Shreiber, and Helene van Beuren. This signature event has attracted hundreds of animal advocates and raised nearly $5 million.
