The Big Band Sound of Sinatra and Basie by the Badessa-Mirand Big Band
This band was specifically assembled to bring you the music of “Ol Blue Eyes” and the “Count” and will be performed by many accomplished musicians. Here are a few highlights of just some of the band members and a small glimpse of their achievements:
John Badessa - drummer for Frank Sinatra, Jr., Etta James, Sax man Stanley Turrentine, Wayne Newton,organist Gene Ludwig, guitarist John Chiodini, vocalist Denise Mainelli and singer Frank D’Rone. He also performed twice for President Gerald Ford.
Michael Mirand - vocalist, has been performing his Sounds of Sinatra show or with “The Pack is Back” shows throughout North America from Southern Florida, up the East Coast, British Columbia, Canada, and in between.
Teddy Mulet - lead trumpeter for Gloria Estefan and Blood Sweat & Tears. He also toured with Justin Timberlake and Paul Anka.
Steve Justice - trumpeter for Tower of Power.
Billy Davis - saxophonist, toured internationally as part of the opening act for Black Oak Arkansas, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and other well known headliners.
Andrew Cleaver - principal alto sax for The United States Air Force Europe Band and lead for the Air Force's Glenn Miller Band sax section.
Richie Peters - Alto sax and flutist, performed with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, Barry Manilow, Connie Francis, Chicago, Stylistics, the Bobby Rosengarten Big Band.
Daniel Tenbusch - pianist, performed with the Glenn Miller Orchestra on their summer tours in 2023. He also worked for drummer Les Demerle (former drummer for the Harry James Orchestra).
Kurt Schulenburg - Music Director, played with the Sinful Saints Dixieland band for 20 years, toured Europe several times with the Crystal Lake Jazz and Concert Bands. He is the current director of Swingtime and the New Horizons Band of Melbourne.
