The Central Florida Half-Day tour is designed for 5 hours of birding within two different habitat types. The first is the pine flat woods habitat where the federally endangered Red-cockaded Woodpeckers live along with other bird species specially adapted to this ecosystem. It’ll be approximately 1 mile of hiking on the Florida Trail. The second location will be mainly driving. The tour will pass through pasture lands that lead out to the shore of a lake where participants will see Snail Kites, Bald Eagle, and Crested Caracara.
