Team Jack Golf Classic Presented by Omaha Steaks

The 4th Annual Team Jack Golf Classic presented by Omaha Steaks is set for Monday, June 23 at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha. This golf scramble is organized by former Nebraska football players to make a difference for kids with brain cancer. Each Corporate Team foursome will be paired with a former Nebraska football player to make teams of five, and proceeds of the event benefit childhood brain cancer research. The Team Jack Foundation was started in 2013 by the parents of Atkinson, Nebraska native, Jack Hoffman who was diagnosed with brain cancer at age five. When his parents, Andy and Bri Hoffman, learned about the toxic and outdated treatments that Jack would have to take to prolong his life and the lack of research being done due to lack of funding they began fundraising for research. Since our inception we have raised over $15 million for pediatric brain cancer research and have committed nearly $13 million to projects across the nation and even globally. Our largest funding commitment to date of $6.5 million is right here in Nebraska though at UNMC and Children’s Nebraska with the development of the Nebraska Pediatric Brain Tumor Program. Families now are receiving specialized care and have access to the best clinical trials possible, when just a few years ago this wasn’t the case. The research being done in Omaha is also quite remarkable and we are so proud of the progress in our home state. This is particularly important to us because Nebraska ranks seventh nationally in incidences of pediatric brain cancer and is first in mortality rate.
