Joslyn Castle Summer Fete
Joslyn Castle & Gardens invites you to be a part of one of Omaha’s most beloved summer traditions: the Summer Fete. As stewards of the historic 5.75 acre campus located in the heart of Midtown, we remain committed to our work of preserving George and Sarah Joslyn’s legacy through the stewardship of their historic home and through programs that inform and inspire the community.
The Summer Fete, an event first hosted by George and Sarah in 1897 as a way to showcase their vision for the estate and raise money for local charities, will once again be held to raise necessary funds for the ongoing preservation and operations of Joslyn Castle & Gardens. Many people don’t realize we are responsible for every dollar raised of the $1.3 million annual budget required to keep the lights on, the gardens open to the public, and to produce educational and cultural programming for over 40,000 visitors a year. There is no endowment and fundraisers like the Summer Fete are essential to our survival.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Joslyn Castle & Gardens.
The party will start with a cocktail reception and the chance to explore the historic property and buildings. Pre-dinner music and lawn games will entertain and engage guests before moving into an open-air tent for dinner nestled in the gardens. Throughout the evening, guests will have the chance to learn more about the Castle’s vision and future.
