All Aboard Opening Weekend Program

Join us in Witherspoon Hall for an opening weekend program for All Aboard: The Railroad in American Art, 1840-1955. Kevin Sharp, the Linda W. and S. Herbert Rhea Director of Dixon Gallery and Gardens, will speak about this exhibition’s highlights and major concepts. From technological marvel to symbol of modern life, trains transformed the landscape and society of the United States. All Aboard: The Railroad in American Art, 1840–1955 explores the significance of this theme for American painters during an era of US expansion, industrialization, and urbanization. The exhibition is organized by Dixon Gallery & Gardens, Joslyn Art Museum, and Shelburne Museum, and is accompanied by an exhibition catalogue. It will be on view Feb 15–May 4, 2025 at The Joslyn.
