For a Dickens of a good time, join Douglas County Historical Society for Lunch at Windsor Castle and Royal Jewelry Sale at Champions Run, on October 23. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Following the luncheon, guests will experience a unique one-man live theater performance as Gerald Charles Dickens, great-great-grandson of literary master Charles Dickens, presents Dickens and the Queen, his original and rarely-seen work based on accounts of Charles Dickens’ only meeting with Queen Victoria, just three months before his death. The performance will be followed by a Q & A session and an opportunity to visit with Mr. Dickens.
The day includes a sale of vintage and contemporary jewelry fit for a queen, and a silent auction.
Gerald Dickens of Oxford, England, is an actor, director, and producer who travels throughout the world showcasing his talents. He has been staging adaptations of his great-great- grandfather’s works for more than 30 years in theaters, libraries and schools, and on ships.
