Spencer Cheek Art Pop-Up
The artist will be present on both days and will give an artist talk on Saturday, July 13, from 1-2 pm. Spencer's work incorporates elements of history, myth, and societal consciousness to explore how these factors inform the creation of objects that create a non-physical space for us to inhabit. Just as a book or film creates narrative realms we can exist in, so too do the objects we display around us activate similar levels of thought. In his creative process, Spencer considers our roots as manipulators of material and investigates the omnipresent need to actualize our ideas about the world upon the world.
