About this event

Come see collage demonstrations, and explore your creativity through collage.

Participants will be given pre-cut 5 inch paper squares and supplies, allowing them the freedom to create, no matter what their experience with art making may be. The collaged paper squares created will be assembled into larger “quilts” representing the magnificent diversity and cultures that make up our city.

All needed supplies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their favorite paper, photographs, magazines, etc and scissors.

Philadelphia CollageWorks is a community of collage artists and makers of all levels. After emerging from the solitary constraints of the pandemic lockdown, PCW members wanted to create a project to address their longing for community connection and the joy that comes from making art together, hence, the concept for The Community Collage Quilt was born. PCW is planning collage making events in neighborhoods and communities throughout Philadelphia. It is their goal to have these quilts exhibited at galleries and community organizations for the public to view, for the quilt participants to celebrate, and to raise awareness of the unique, fun and welcoming art of making collage.

InLiquid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to creating opportunities and exposure for visual artists through exhibitions in the InLiquid Gallery and satellite exhibition spaces, all while serving as a free, online, public hub that showcases Philadelphia’s vast visual arts culture.
