Experience an enchanting evening of jazz piano with acclaimed jazz artist Marc Copland and his trio at Zinc on Tuesday, May 7.
Although born in 1948, Marc Copland defies the notion of an elder statesman. Since the mid-1970s, he has continually crafted unique sounds. Copland boasts an extensive discography of over 40 critically acclaimed CDs, collaborating with jazz luminaries like John Abercrombie, Joey Baron, Joe Lovano, and many more.
Far from resting on his laurels, Copland’s creativity flourishes. Saxophonist Robin Verheyen describes Copland as an ongoing source of inspiration, constantly innovating. In 2016, he founded his own label, defying the trend of declining CD sales. His latest release, “John (illusions / mirage),” has earned rave reviews, with Down Beat magazine and others praising his genius.
