UNTITLED at 3 Freeman Alley's Graffiti Tree Lighting
Cans were sourced from artists within the LES community, and supplies from the iconic All City Legends art shop. Guests are invited to decorate their own USPS stickers as “ornaments” to place on the tree, a long-standing graffiti art tradition of using free stickers to tag around the city. UNTITLED asks guests to pay a give-what-you-can donation to Arts Ignite, a charity focused on supporting youth art initiatives in NYC, to hang their sticker on the tree in the holiday giving spirit. The tree will be up through the holiday season, on display on the ground floor outdoor terrace, for all to enjoy.
A tree lighting ceremony will be held Friday, December 13th from 6pm-8pm, complete with festive libations and a tattoo happy hour by their in-house tattoo parlor UnScripted Ink, where guests can get their very own merry $100 flash tattoos. Graffiti artists who had a hand in making the tree – as well as some iconic street art around the city – will be in attendance to show guests how to “tag” the stickers with unique hand styles, and chat about the graffiti art scene.
