Livingston Symphony Orchestra: "Soundscapes"

On June 14 , 7:30 pm, join Maestro Anthony LaGruth and the Livingston Symphony Orchestra for “Soundscapes”, a musical journey capturing the essence of people and places far from home. The evening promises not only a celebration of classical tradition but also a glimpse into the future, bridging past and present through its evocative selections. This vacation in sound starts with “Iberia”, Debussy’s impressionistic homage to the dreamy, dancing world of Spain. Enesco’s “Rumanian Rhapsody” gives visitors a snapshot of his homeland country using the exuberant and celebratory folk music he heard as a child. Composed after a trip to Spain, Chabrier also charms us in “Espana” with the color and excitement of dance, highlighting the jota, malaguena, and a jaunty trombone theme of his own. The program also includes the world premiere of an exciting new work by young NJ composer and flautist Milo Berntsen entitled “New Horizons.” “Soundscapes” guarantees an enchanting experience that will leave the audience with vivid memories of far-off lands and the creative spirit of contemporary talent. This season finale concert takes place on Saturday June 14 at 7:30PM at the Mount Pleasant Middle School, 11 Brooklawn Drive, Livingston. Tickets are available online or at the door, with 40% off for seniors and free admission for those 12 and under. For more information, please visit www.lsonj.org or call (973)980-1809. v
