Starting Your Business 101 - Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24, 2014 Asian Women in Business (AWIB) will take a comprehensive look at the most important aspects of running a successful business. This four-part series, led by industry experts, will be the key to unlocking your entrepreneurial potential. Whether you are looking to turn your business idea into a reality or to simply hone the skills necessary to take your business to the next level, this series is for you. Pick up new ideas for growing your business while meeting like-minded entrepreneurs! Classes take place at Microsoft on four (4) consecutive Mondays in November.

- Elements of an effective plan
- Importance of strategic planning
- Using research and resources to make your case
November 10 (Mon)
Legal Structures,Taxes & Record Keeping
- Legal structure; deciding what is best for your business
- Accounting essentials: cash flow, balance sheets, record keeping & taxes
- Software for small businesses
November 17 (Mon)
Marketing—On and Offline Strategies
- Create a Marketing Plan
- Outsmart your competitors and effectively target your market
- Use social media to find customers and to grow your business
November 24 (Mon)
Financing Your Business
- Loans, investments, credit lines & SBA guarantees
- Alternative financing, crowd funding and venture capital
- How much financing do you really need?
- What do lenders/investors look for?
Each session will run from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Light refreshments will be provided.
Cost: $90 for 4 classes or $30 each class
