Join Harlem Wellness Center’s Racial Healing Hub on Saturday, March 9 in celebrating culture, identity and rest while dreaming up a new world.Â
This free, in-person event at the Maysles Documentary Center will feature music, spoken word, conversation and positive interaction. The gathering aims to foster unity, understanding, and healing among diverse communities.Â
Together, we will talk about some of the ideas in Tricia Hersey's book "Rest is Resistance", listen to talks, songs, drums and more, have time for reflection, and join together for a community meal and an art project to inspire dreams of our future. This event has been designed and will be led by two GenZ leaders.

WHO ARE WE?
Harlem Wellness Center launched its Racial Healing Hub in January of 2021, as a new public-facing program designed to change the way our communities talk about race in this time of social transformation. HWC recognizes the critical need for skillfully curated activities that inspire and guide all of us to explore and challenge our thinking, attitudes, values, and ideas around racial identity, systems, healing, and equity. As we look to promote truth, reconciliation, and transformation, and heal the racial divide to end systemic racism, the mission of the Racial Healing Hub will harness the power of art, reflection, and authentic connection to create a more just and kind world.Â
