LYNDHURST’S 2024 SEASON OPENS WITH LYNDHURST IN BLOOM FLOWER SHOW

Westchester County, just north of New York City, is a popular destination for those looking for day trips and weekend getaways from the city. Area attractions include historic sites such as Lyndhurst, charming towns and villages, indoor and outdoor shopping, hiking, boating, fine dining, outdoor recreational activities, museums, and performing arts venues. Westchester is easily accessible by car or commuter rail (Metro North railroad). The tourism and travel industry in Westchester generates $2 billion annually. Lyndhurst in Bloom includes major floral art installations and an expanded slate of activities on Saturday, April 20th and Sunday, April 21st (with a members-only preview event on Friday, April 19th). Lyndhurst in Bloom offers a fresh twist on a traditional flower show, transforming the fabled Lyndhurst mansion and grounds into a contemporary celebration of all things floral. Visitors will experience a wonderland of color and texture as they walk through the mansion’s three floors without a guided tour- perfect for all ages. Twenty floral artists will have expansive designs on display throughout the mansion and, for the first time, the grounds. Renowned sculptor Nick Cave will also have a work from his recent Guggenheim exhibition on view paired with a complementary floral installation by Cape Lily. Weekend activities include floral superstars Frances Palmer and Lindsey Taylor discussing their latest books, and demonstrations on sustainable floristry and floral design with TJ McGrath and Trish O’Sullivan where visitors can enter to win the final arrangements. The Spring Market will feature a curated collection of more than 30 vendors offering plants, flowers, and gardening-related items. Visitors can learn about Lyndhurst’s rock garden and historic trees with free walking tours, then grab a bite to eat at a pop-up café by Geordanes of Irvington.
