What dogs can teach us about living well.
This book is an unforgettable tribute to the extraordinary healing nature of dogs. Every day in her veterinary oncology practice, Dr. Renee Alsarraf bears witness to the undeniable bond between pets and their people. However, while we are busy teaching them to “sit” and “stay,” they have their own, more profound, lessons to impart.
Each chapter is about a different patient of hers and either what that family learned from their dog or what she learned from their dog. Woven through is her backstory, including that of a working mom, dealing with her own cancer. Some stories will elicit tears, some are funny and heart-warming. It is a testament to the struggles we all face, how we survive, and what we learn along the way. Overall, it is an inspirational tribute to the human-animal bond in its deepest form. Full of healing metaphors, perfect dogs, and their imperfect humans, you will benefit from life lessons from dogs.
In this workshop, we will discuss:
1. Mindfulness through the eyes of our four-legged friends
2. The benefits of being a pack animal
3. The sanctity of self-care
4. Living without judgement
5. And how dogs model what a best friend should be
The hope is that you leave this workshop feeling happier with an improved well-being.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend and receive a special gift bag from our sponsor Get Joy Food.
