Among the Bones, Beauty Blooms
Step into the surreal at the Living Dead Market, where the macabre meets the magical in one of New Jersey’s most unusual outdoor venues – the Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery. Beneath your feet lie nearly two centuries of silent stories, while creators of the strange and spectacular breathe new life into forgotten treasures. From skeleton-inspired jewelry and taxidermy art to preserved insects, ghost adoptions, and vintage oddities, this isn’t just a market; it’s a celebration of death, art, and everything in between.
Event Background
Founded in 2016 by alternative artist Brittany Graziosi, the Jersey City Oddities Market (also known as the Jersey City Alternative Art Market) began as a space for the weird and wonderful to thrive. Now, the market returns to its most iconic location—a Revolutionary War battleground turned cemetery—for a day of shopping, discovery, and reverence. This event is the first of only two remaining markets before the Jersey City Oddities Market retires. You don't want to miss it!
What to Expect
Ethically Sourced Bone Art & Curios: Unique pieces that honor the legacy of the past.
Handmade Gothic & Horror-Themed Crafts: One-of-a-kind items crafted with passion.
Shadowbox Insects & Preserved Specimens: Fascinating displays that capture nature’s wonders.
Vintage Fashion, Antique Treasures, & Oddball Jewelry: Curated collections with compelling stories.
Tarot Readers, Spiritualists, & Mystical Wares: Explore the mystical side of art and culture.
While bones and relics attract many, it is the deep respect for the past, for nature, and for life's fragility that keeps visitors coming back. The vendors here don’t shock for mere spectacle—they honor transformation and the natural cycle of life.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
All proceeds support the upkeep and restoration of the 6-acre Harsimus Cemetery, a once-abandoned space revitalized through the dedication of volunteers, artists, and yes, even a few goats. The grounds have been transformed into a vibrant place for the living to gather, remember, and create.
