Dumbo Drop, the neighborhood’s signature flying elephant fundraising spectacle and block party, is back in-person on Saturday, May 21, 2022, with events from 3pm to 8pm.
Thousands of parachuting toy elephants will make their way from the rooftops surrounding Washington Street at two times:
-5pm: Classic (daylight) #DUMBODROP
-7:45pm: #DISCODROP, featuring illuminated elephants
Individuals can enter one of both Dumbo Drop events for a chance to win significant neighborhood prizes. The elephant that most closely reaches the target wins each contest. Individuals can enter online by visiting https://dumbobrooklyn.square.site/. Winners will be announced from the mainstage after each Drop; individuals who enter the contest do not have to be present to win. Each entry additionally guarantees a souvenir to take home. Onlookers can gather to watch the Drop events at the corner of Washington and Water Streets.
Proceeds from the #DUMBDROP support Dumbo’s Title 1 STEAM Schools, PS307 Elementary School and The Dock Street Middle School.

-performances on Washington Street
-Brooklyn Bridge Parents Archway Kids Zone, featuring bedazzling elephant crafts, plus other family-friendly activities and music.
-special prix fixe and take-away menus at neighborhood restaurants for the Taste of Dumbo. Free entries into the #DISCODROP are available with proof of dining at a Taste of Dumbo restaurant on May 21st before 7:30pm.
