Flowers Festival 2024
Spring is a time of new beginnings where color blossoms all around us with lush gardens and more sunlight. The India Heritage Foundation NJ-NY and Hare Krishna Movement NJ will host this momentous time with the Flower Festival. This event will take place on 3/31/24 from 11 am to 1 pm at our community center located at 7 Kilmer Ct, Unit B, Edison, NJ. Come celebrate with over 500 community leaders, honored guests, residents, and members of the temple who will come together to share, learn, fellowship, and strengthen community bonds. During this event we will share the traditions and rich history of our ancestors and country with our neighbors. Be amazed by the transformation of IHF-NJNY’s facilities to a colorful and vibrant space imbued with the
sights, sounds, and smells of India including ornate floral dressings, cultural décor and the sweet scent of Indian delicacies filling the air. The students of our Colors of India and Synchrony programs will be performing a play based on the significance of celebrating the auspicious occasion. The Flower Festival
celebrates nature in full bloom. Flowers are symbolic of purity and fertility. The fragrance of flowers is believed to be pleasing to the Hindu gods. They play a significant role in the sacred Hindu ritual of puja. Puja is the loving offering of flowers, light, and water to a deity. This act is performed when honoring a guest, to the offering of prayer and to celebrate a special event. The event kickoff includes a welcome address by the temple president His Grace Shuklambhara Dasa, followed by prayers & music meditation. We are grateful for the support of local businesses and the city council. There is no entrance fee to participate in this amazing experience. Donations are welcome and ensure this event occurs year after year. Whether you stop by or the entire event, we know it will be an experience you will never forget. Come one, come all!
