Four authors will read and discuss portions of their works.
Ariadne Blayde is a playwright & fiction writer based in America’s last true bohemia. Her first novel, Ash Tuesday (April Gloaming, 2022) explores the niche culture of New Orleans’ ghost tours, & her play “The Other Room” is produced around the world. She writes speculative fiction, historical fiction, & work focusing on social & environmental justice.
Carla Seyler is the author of A Place Unmade, where science, crime, and love meet in a meticulously researched story that begins in New Orleans and threatens the world. Her work is recognized by a Bronze Readers' Favorite Award, a PenCraft Best Book Award, a Gold Award from Literary Titan, and she is an International Thriller Writers' debut author for 2023–2024.
Eben E. B. Bein (they/he) is a biology-teacher-turned-climate-justice-educator at the nonprofit Our Climate. Their poems can be found in the likes of New Ohio Review, Nimrod Journal, Sonora Review, or in their chapbook Character Flaws (Fauxmoir lit 2023) which explores judgment in intimate relationships. hey currently live on Pawtucket land (Cambridge, MA) with their husband where they are completing their first full-length collection about parent-child conflict, healing, & abiding love.
Ladee Hubbard is the author of the novels The Rib King & The Talented Ribkins which received the 2018 Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence & the Hurston-Wright Legacy Award for Debut Fiction. Her writing has appeared in Oxford American, Guernica, Virginia Quarterly & others. She is a recipient of a Berlin Prize, a Radcliffe Institute Fellowship & a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award.
