Members of BBR Cool Jazz are Bruce Elsensohn – Keyboard, Buddy Albert – bass and Romney Richard – vocals.
These seasoned musicians have joined together to bring back the cool sounds of jazz including Jobim, Zawinul, Rogers and other jazz greats. They will be doing their own rendition of Elvis Presley’s Love Me Tender, Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World and Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans.
Elsensohn & Richard, graduated in the same class from Fortier in 1968, although he played in the band and she sang in the chorus. Recently reunited to play the music which is both their passions.
Elsensohn has been involved with the music industry for over 50 years, 20 of those with Luther Kent. He’s toured both nationally & internationally with Gatemouth Brown, Kent & played with John Fred and has an extensive resume of musicians he’s gigged with. He was hire by Bill Ray, a vocalist he knew in Baton Rouge, where they toured United States from LA to upper New York. ICM Partners organized this month-long music tour.
Richard sang vocals with Cool Breeze, back-up vocals with Armand St. Martin & for the last 10 years, she’s sung with the Delgado Jazz Band. For the last 30+ years she has sang with Symphony Chorus of New Orleans. Both have performed in the New Orleans Jazz Fest.
Albert got his Masters in Music from LSU and has just returned to the industry after a long career in the advertising business.
