Kindergarten Kickoff
Celebrate this milestone with your upcoming Kindergartener! We’ll help ease some of the anxiety of parents and caregivers when it comes to your little one starting “big school.” Your kiddo will practice skills that are expected in their new grade. Some of our facilitated activities will include cutting with scissors, placing folders in their backpacks, balancing their lunch trays, writing their names, boarding a school bus, and more. We will also host several Kindergarten teachers who will be mingling throughout the Museum. They will also host two 20-minute talks (one in Spanish) during the event. They will cover expectations for parents, caregivers, and students. There will also be three special story times with books on the topic of Kindergarten.
Several community partners will be present to share their services and programs, including New Orleans Public Schools, the New Orleans Public Library, We Scribblin’, and the New Orleans Speech and Hearing Center. This event will be FREE with required registration available on our website.
