NextStage Productions Parkinsons Benefit
Enjoy an afternoon of musical entertainment by Santa Cruz musicians to support Taiko Drumming for People Living with Parkinsons, a free class offered by NextStage Productions. Performances include vocal harmonies of Key of 3, Kathryn Adkins, Claire Paul and Nancy Voogd with Jerry Paul on keyboard singing favorites from Gershwin to Joni Mitchell and Queen.
Daryn Smith is Downtown Bones, a local musician who specializes in traditional blues and Americana. He has played throughout the county and is currently performing every Saturday at California Coffee. 4EverYoung consists of four local musicians. Margaret "Maggie" Pearce and Greg Abelar from the Honey Hot Shots, join Glenn and Ellen as 4EverYoung. 4EverYoung brings back the 1960s by "reimagining" songs that made up the soundtracks of many of our lives. A special Taiko drumming performance by members of the local Parkinson's community will showcase how percussion helps decrease the severity of common motor and non-motor symptoms, as they perform to some popular Beatles tunes. 100% of the donations go to support NextStage Productions Taiko Drumming program for people living with Parkinson's.
