Solar Eclipse at the Farm
Come early to grab lunch, play yard games and make your own eclipse chalk art! The first 100 customers (starting at 12 PM) will receive free eclipse glasses with any purchase made at the Apple Barrel Farm Market, or you can purchase glasses for $5 each (while supplies last).
We will have a special Eclipse Cookie Decorating Kit available for purchase! Yard games will be outside on the Apple Barrel Patio.
The event is held from 12 - 3pm at the Apple Barrel Farm Market: 32 Reeds Gap Road, Middlefield, CT.
The solar eclipse begins in Connecticut at 1:03 PM with peak at 1:54 PM and ends around 2:42 PM. Only a partial eclipse will be seen in CT, but the experience can still be enjoyed by all!
A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby obscuring the view of the Sun from a small part of the Earth.
PLEASE NOTE: Looking at the solar eclipse without the proper eye covering can cause serious, permanent damage. Eclipse glasses are NOT regular sunglasses. Please BYO eclipse glasses in case we run out! Learn more about viewing safety here: https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/safety/.
